Hooray Jeff! What a great idea to get people rallied around creative ideas and ways to share them -- it feels so synergistic! I love synergy... one of the reasons that I work so well with my sister Jules is because we are practically polar opposites of one another, but together we create a greater whole... I learned a great explanation of synergy from Ed Zemba today: 1 + 1 = 3.I came to IUSA early to attend some classes on Studio Management.... accounting and sales and marketing... sounds boring, right? Nothing to do with f-stop and aperture! But people like Scott Kurkian, Julia Woods and Ed Zemba made crunching numbers actually pretty inspiring ... that the images we create are worth more than we usually give ourselves credit for, and that we need to be confident in selling those images!
It is so important, now more than ever, to be attending workshops and conferences to hone our business skills and photography skills so that we can continue to do what we love and to make a great living doing just that.
I really appreciate what those who are willing to stand up and teach have to say, and I think we can all learn from each other-- much like this blog!
