I am fairly
new to the photography field. I have found my passion a few years ago
after the birth of my babies. I was told that this was an excellent
place to get feedback on my work. I just need to direction and thoughts
concerning my photos. I want to be pushed in the right direction. Here
are some of the photo's I took and edited from a session I did a couple
weeks ago.

My 2 cents...
You have some really great shots here. But just be sure not to over process them. I assume you're running Photoshop actions. If so, try dialing the opacity of the actions down a little. Play with the settings. You don't want to lose any detail in the images. Especially in their faces. You've captured some great moments and you want to make sure those moments don't get covered up by too much enhancement.
That's really the only critique I have. You have the creative eye though :)
They look great! Composition and exposure are spot on, I'd watch the skin tones they are pretty warm.
Thank you so much! That is exactly what I'm am trying to get, some constructive criticism! I really appreciate the points you guys have made and I will definitely work on those areas. And yes I am using the photoshop actions and will try dialing down, Thanks =)
A great little tool to help you [easily] get your colors right is the X-Rite ColorChecker Passport. http://blog.xritephoto.com/?p=641

Oops.
Great! Thanks Jeff! I will definitely check that out!
Oh my - I typed this once already and lost it... Let's hope this one makes it!!!!
First - THANK YOU for being brave and posting images!!! The best way for us to learn is by receiving objective feed back and this post means you are not only ready for praise but instruction on how be nurture your craft.
I'm going to take a second and tell you what I like and what I would have done differently to each image.
1: drama ~
like the effect you are going for here with the dramatic lighting. little too much diffused glow. keep wondering what it would look like if you faced them the other direction and let that bright light backlight them.
2: snuggle~
love the emotion in this shot - just wish I could see more of it. next time move her to the other side so we can see her face. I'm betting her eyes are closed and she's having an "iluvu" moment. Also would have been good to keep their hands in the frame for a second point of contact.
3: giggles~
love it. make his face go full profile just like hers. fix her hair
4: legs~
love legs and feet :) could loose the flipflop all together - bump her closer so you don't see the background between her legs.
5: the lean~
fun :) move them so water is the full background. they are competing with what is going on behind them. let her throw her head back a little and laugh.
6: the kiss~
sweet moment. move them off of that background. shoot it vertically to pull in hands
7&8: sitting
background is better.
next time either shoot more above them so you have full grass as a background or get on the ground so you have more of the sky in the background. ask him to take his right hand and place it on the ground so he can lean back a little. relax his foot. make her lean in to him on his chest just a smidge.
9: the look of love~
love how he is looking at her. too much glow - loosing too much info in the blacks.
10: 2 smiles at the camera:
sweet shot. he needs to not hide so much. a little too much soft actions on her face. see if you can carry a diffuser with you - you could place it above them and get even light. That would help with all of the colors blocking up.
GREAT JOB!!
rock on lbobi :)

Hi Jeff and Allison,
I need some help I am working a Sports Tournament at the end of August and this is the first one I am running so I am looking for some help from my fellow photographers to make sure that this runs smoothly. The tournament is looking for print on demand but I am looking for a template collage as well for ice hockey where I can drop pictures into the collage and then add the child's name to the collage. I am also interested in talking to other photographers that have run a tournament from beginning to end to find out what their setup is as well! The tournament isn't until the end of August so I do have some time, but any help given would be great!
Thanks
Frank and Dina
