A trip down the Star Wars memory lane.
A couple months ago I was flipping through the channels and came across a documentary about a Star Wars concert. It showed the behind the scenes setup and interviews with George Lucas (the daddy of Star Wars) and John Williams (Star Wars music composer). Of course I was VERY intrigued by this. I turned to Allison and said in a very emotion filled way "wow, that would be an awesome thing to see! I wonder if they are still doing it." Allison was secretly hoping the answer would be no. The documentary ended and it cut to our local PBS station. Apparently they were offering "select seats" for a donation. I JUMPED up and ran for my phone and immediately bought two tickets. Allison was SO thrilled (outwardly of course, because she is a awesome wife). You have to understand, Star Wars has been a MAJOR design influence in my life. As a kid, all I did was play with the Star Wars toys. As an adult I like to add elements of the Star Wars look into designs as Easter Eggs.Moving forward 2 months, we went to the FEDEX Forum Monday night and since I bought the PBS tickets, we got to see the traveling exhibit early before the general public. I felt very Imperial.
Here are a couple pics of the exhibit. My favorite thing there was Han Solo in carbonite from the BEST movie of the Star Wars series, The Empire Strikes Back.
A quick video from the performance.
