RSS on iPad : Early Addition
One of the reasons I bought the ipad was so that I didn't have to go into the studio first thing in the morning to enjoy reading some blogs with my morning coffee. Inevitably I get sucked into a conversation or email from a client etc..long before my day has to start.I was surprised that RSS feeds weren't coming in via Mail.. I found an app that takes care of that, in the form of a morning newspaper - The Early Edition is from Glass House Apps.
I have just purchased and begun to set it up but it looks great. The price is reasonable and whilst you currently have to manually enter your feeds (ugh) there is a review in place for Google Reader etc.. I am looking forward to waking up to my personalized newspaper in the morning.

I think devices like the iPad will only gain popularity as more people realize it's a catchall for literature, media, news, gaming and more.
Just imagine waking up and sitting down with a bowl of cereal and a cup of coffee. Turn on your iPad and having today's newspaper, this month's magazine subscriptions and news updates complete with video and images all right at your fingertips. What's that? You like to do the crossword or sudoku before you go to work? No problem, you have those and thousands of other games available to you on the same device. Not to mention, you can check today's schedule, make dinner reservations or even send an email letting everyone know you'll be playing hookey today.
All this with 1 hand while the other is shoveling Corn Flakes into your face.
Now THAT'S the future :P
I dont think it is the distant future... i think a lot of that is already available. I am using my ipad in that way now.. I dont have my fave magazines on my ipad but i dont mind a paper version of those still.. rss feeds via this app is a similar feel to the morning paper (i dont read our biased, sad excuses for papers anyway).
I do find though... this app isn't downloading the images and saving them. I headed out for a coffee and had no pictures..oh the sadness!
Ps. You wouldn't play hookey from work though.. would you Nick. Best bosses in the world..oh.. yeah and they read this ;)
