iPhone 4 pic shot with tiltshiftgen and crossprocess
In episode #7 of lbobi Radio, Brian and I go over my list of lesser known favorite applications. Hopefully you can get something out of this list. It is in not intended to be a comprehensive end all list but rather a highlight of what I am currently using.
Here are the links to what I cover in the show.
Desktop:
- Animoto: Great dynamic slideshow creator.
- Mind Node: (studio favorite) Free visual mind map software to visually organize your thought process.
- Hand Brake: Great way to make copies of DVD's in different formats.
General Apps
- GateGuru: for Travelling. Shows what is near you in a airport.
- WhatTheFONT: Take a pic of a font and it searches for what it is called.
- GPSdrive: Cheap GPS that works very very well
- RunPee: Shows the time it is ok to go to the bathroom in a movie.
- SoundHound / Shazam: When you hear a song you play this app and it tells you what it is and where to purchase it.
- Bible: Just what you think it is.
- TiltShiftGEn: Creates a easy to adjust fake tilt shift effect. used in conjunction with another app has great looks.
- AutoStitch: Take multiple images and stitch them together creating a large pano or just a very large photo.
- ShakeItPhoto: Creates a nice POLAROID effect to an image.
- CrossProcess: My favorite: Set on basic.
- ProHDR: Does a better job of combining 2 exposures than the new iPhon4 HDR feature.
- iTimeLapse: You can create timelapse sequences. From 1 sec to 1 day. You can set it to shoot an image from sound or timed as well.
- Photoburst: Generate a very fast sequence of images.
- PhotoGene: The better PS for the iphone.
- iMovie: Stripped down version of iMovie. Nice but limited.
- ReelDirector: Better video editor. More options for the same price point.
- Slowmo: Can shoot in slowmotion.Fun effect.
You can listen to the show on itunes, podomatic or right here in the embedded player.

Nice list of apps, and I'll definitely check some out. Let me add a plug for MapQuest's free voice-navigation GPS app. So far, it's worked really well for me. :)
