Please critique my image.

Hi there! I just posted few images of my last bridal session. There's one image that is a perfect sample of the angle I like and often shoot.

I wonder if you think this image makes the bride look weird. I know the wide angle is tricky to use, but I wouldn't get these kind of shots without it. I corrected the distortion of her hand, but there's one point where I had to stop, because applying more lens correction was starting to stretch her upper body making her look fat. What do you think of this shot? not flattering?

I like it... I tend to shoot the "colossal bride" type image often as well! I don't think it looks bad at all! Cheers!

I like, but I think you have to be careful shooting a female this way. Maybe if you brought her hand up to her waist so the distance between her hand and her head is less. Or if you love this dramatic angle then go from above. You have to think about what the goal is with this angle - is it that you are trying to make the ring the focus?

Thanks for posting!!!

Allison :)

The sense of perspective is a little bit distorted. I love the depth and colour of the image, but I think that it might be beneficial to create a separate horizontal image from this by cropping in to highlight the ring. Cheers!

It is a very unique image. However, not extremely flattering for this genre of photography. I would try a little higher up on the subject, like maybe waist up. However, if the ring is the focus as it looks to be in this image, than make it more of the focus with a little less dramatic angle. I do love all of the colors and the crispness of the image. Its very fresh.

Thanks for your responses. I see what you all say about portraying a bride like this. Yes, the focus is the ring and I think I can improve this kind of angle shot as I really like it. I'll try to avoid that distance between the hand and head. I will pose the bride in a different way, not too stiff. Also, I see that by cropping it horizontal gets rid a little of the distortion, but I will take the challenge of a vertical shot =). I will try it again and again and show you the results.
