lbobi spotlight: PhVusion Photoshop video editor

Editors Note:
Last spring when Allison and I were on the PPAtour we met a very cute couple, Vanessa Joy and her husband Rob Adams, at the New Jersey talk. It was great to run into them again a couple of weeks ago at the Animoto party at ImagingUSA 2011. She told me about a very cool product they have created for quickly editing video right in Photoshop Extended. I asked Vanessa to write up a description and I would post it here for you guys to check out.

Editor of things,
Jeff

Hi all! I'm Vanessa Joy, a wedding photographer from New Jersey, and my husband is Rob Adams, a wedding cinematographer from New Jersey as well. About a year ago now, we saw the need for photographers to have an easy video editing program since so many of them wanted to shoot video, but then didn't know what to do with the clips after they shot them. So, we created a program called PhVusion Effects that runs as a script right in Adobe Photoshop Extended Versions 3, 4 and 5! It is meant to take SLR video files, help you trim them, effect them, color/exposure correct and even grab stills from them. It also has you batch render at the end because rendering video does take a long time, and no one needs to sit and watch paint dry.

The audience for this program is photographers who want to get into fusion but don't want to learn a complex video-editing system. It makes it easy to clean up and polish your video clips, just as you would clean up your photos before using them in any final product. You can use your cleaned up video clips them in a Fusion Slideshow or Digital Fusion Album with any video supporting slideshow program, like Animoto.

PhVusion Effects allows you to:

  • Apply one, or a combination, of 14 different video effects to your clip including exposure correction
  • Trim the start and end points of your video file
  • Grab still images from any frame in your clip
  • Batch Export the files out to a QuickTime MPEG-4 H.264 720P or 1080P video file
  • Mac and PC Compatible
