Introducing the keen new lbobi forum!

Click here for full on FORUM-osity...

Well it's been talked about off and on for awhile now, but we're happy to announce that we now have a better way to facilitate discussion on lbobi. But before we send you off to start jabbering away in our super rad forum, we thought we'd show you how it works.

Step 1: Register
The forum lives under the lbobiville menu tab

So to use the forum you'll need to register. It's a very quick process, and you should be able to use your lbobi username and password if you want. In fact, if you have a Gravatar associated with your email address, you won't even have to upload a profile pic!

Step 2: Learn the home screenIn the picture below, I've underlined the new forum tools that you'll see once you complete the  registration. We'll go through them quickly so that you know what they do.

options.pngNew Topic: Clicking this will open a message box that will allow you to post a question or topic in the general Topics area. This is the easiest way to start a new discussion thread if you don't want to talk about any of the other things listed in the forum. If you create a new post, be sure to check "Alert me by email when someone posts to this thread" so that you'll know when people are responding to your post.

Topics View: This is just a streamlined view of the discussion topics, so if you think you'd like to browse the forum in a different way you can check out this display option.

People: This will show you who has signed up for the blog and who is currently online in the forum.

Options: You'll see here that you can subscribe to the entire forum by email, so you can stay up to date with everything that's going on.

Step 3: Read and Reply
To read posts, just click on a topic that sounds interesting to you. Read the discussion, and if you have something to say you can hit Reply.

reply.pngYou can reply to any of the posts. If you see a post that you would like to respond to specifically, make sure to click Reply on their post. You can ensure that they'll know you were replying to them by Quoting them in your reply (just click where it says "Quote" on the Reply page).

Again, don't forget to check "Alert me by email when someone posts to this thread" so that you'll know when people are responding to your post.

We've started a few topics in the forums to give it a sense of direction, but you can take it anywhere you'd like to go. We're excited about the potential of great discussion and mass idea sharing, so sign up and collaborate with your fellow lbobians!
