We created lbobi the Little Blog of Big Ideas (pronounced luh-boh-bee) to be a place for other creatives to come back to often to get inspired. Better yet inspire others by posting your own links and images in the COLLABORATE section.
What is lbobi? - lbobi is the merging of photography and design into one blogtastic community. A little blog of big ideas.
What is COLLABORATE? - Collaborate is an interactive community blog within lbobi.com where creatives can learn, get inspired, share ideas and network with other talented professionals.
Here at lbobi, you'll find inspiring ideas from other professionals. You'll interact and network with the creative community in COLLABORATE. You'll find amazing textures, templates, vector art and more to enhance your photography and design work in the lbobi Shop.

As a designer I tend to look at all spaces as possible locations for placement of images, not just the obvious ones. The one thing that we see a lot, is people don't know where to place things and at what height. (pet peeve ~ things hung to high on the wall, unless you are a family of giants bring things down to eye level.) The other thing we hear a lot of is 'I have an open floor plan in my house and don't have any wall space.' While this is a trend in homes and can be somewhat of a challenge, all houses have walls. You might just have to get a little more creative in where you put things. Below are some examples of places we have made suggestions that are not the typical but look fabulous!
This was a great place for these sweet girls images on the stairs that typically would have never been used for a grouping, but it made it fun. Don't forget to look for any electrical outlets and switches when deciding on placement.
Some of the more obvious places are to anchor images with a nice piece of furniture or if their is a special niche somewhere with great lighting. Don't think about the way everything in the house is currently, and don't be afraid to MOVE things, you don't live in a museum it doesn't have to stay the same way forever. We encourage people all the time to take things off their walls and move them around the house to see if you like it better somewhere else, and to group different things together.
This is a great example if a niche that was planned in a drawing and then we added images to this special place.
So all this to say, don't be afraid of your house, and don't be surprised if we suggest moving stuff around your house. One thing I like to do is take things down, play with arranging them on the floor to make it feel fresh. I always like to change things around to make room for something exciting and new and my house. Have fun and refresh your nest!

(01.14.10 @ 10:05 AM)Great idea with this blog. Allison was great in the SMS class and both of you did a great job in the seminar. Love the ideas of how to display photos.
(01.14.10 @ 06:19 PM)Evan, once the deadline is up (Jan 13th) you will receive an email with the download link
(01.12.10 @ 05:13 PM)Hi I was wondering if they have been sent out yet? I joined on Jan 12th and haven't received anything. Thanks
(01.15.10 @ 07:33 AM)i just joined and missed the free sampler pack!!!! any chance you are extending the deadline (hint! hint!)?
(01.16.10 @ 09:02 AM)Jeff just told me about the site Yesterday! I think that counts towards an extension :)
(01.19.10 @ 12:24 AM)Hmm...I guess we can extend the deadline under one circumstance. You must make a blog post on Collaborate. This post has to be valuable to the community. It can be a question, something interesting you've found or just some knowledge you'd like to share with the masses.
PJ, you've already done this so you will receive an email with the download link. Anyone else who reads this has until the end of this week to make a VALUABLE post in collaborate and you will also receive an email.
(01.19.10 @ 01:22 PM)Hi! I attended imaging and am JUST now getting onto the site. Can I still get the freebie? thanks!
(01.21.10 @ 08:30 PM)
Great idea! Thanks for sharing.
(01.14.10 @ 09:48 AM)Hey, this is a great idea..............why didn't I think of that?? We all have phones so now we just have to remember that when our photographer's eye spots something cool, different or inspiring to snap it! Thanks, I'll be visiting this blog often!
(01.14.10 @ 04:10 PM)I have caught myself doing documenting neat textures and scenes. Try even twisting your phone a little bit, creating some cool blur effect.
